Avoiding College Stress

Many students find themselves under stress and pressure as it comes time to turn in major papers or to take finals. There are some stresses that people naturally are going to face, but there are many ways to avoid stress at college.

One of the best ways to avoid stress in college is to prioritize. When you set your priorities each day, it is easier to do what is necessary now, and put off what is not until another day. No one can get everything done, it is best to break things down into steps and do a little at a time if possible.

If you have a 21 page paper due in thirty days, it is a good idea to make sure that you complete a page a day. The other days can be used for research up front, and then down time to enjoy the fact that you completed your assignment early. It feels great to get something completed ahead of time and be able to go and do other things that you enjoy or even just take the time to relax.

It is important to take time to relax and rejuvenate everyday. Managing stress becomes much easier when you are not running on empty all the time. When you take the time to ponder in the morning it helps your entire day go better. Relaxing your mind at night will improve your sleep as well.Planning ahead and creating balance will help you have lower stress during your years in college.
